Michael LaRosa

Division Director, Workforce Development BAYADA Home Health Care

Michael LaRosa is Division Director of Workforce Development at BAYADA Home Health Care, a $1.7 billion global industry leader with a clear strategic vision of home as the stable center of the health care continuum. Founded in Philadelphia, PA in 1975, BAYADA provides nursing, rehabilitative, therapeutic, hospice, and assistive care services to children, adults, and seniors in the comfort of their homes. With hundreds of office locations in the US, Germany, India, Ireland, New Zealand, South Korea, and the UK, BAYADA is a leading nonprofit home health care provider and the only national provider that offers a full range of home-based specialty care services.

For the first time in home health care, BAYADA completed its transition from a privately held business to a nonprofit organization on January 1, 2019—a decision by its Founder and Chairman Mark Baiada to help ensure that the company would never be sold, and that its mission, vision, beliefs, and core values of compassion, excellence, and reliability—codified in The BAYADA Way—will endure for generations to come. Families and individuals coping with significant illness or disability need help and support, and it is BAYADA’s mission to help people have a safe home life with comfort, independence, and dignity.

Dr. LaRosa is passionate about expanding career pathways for public service. By making meaningful careers more accessible to those with the purpose and passion to serve, he believes we can enable millions of families to access the high-quality home health care they need and deserve.

Since joining BAYADA in 2019, Dr. LaRosa has been building a scalable, financially sustainable platform to attract and employ new home health care professionals and to elevate the progression of their careers through public-private investments.

Prior to BAYADA, Dr. LaRosa was part of the launch and scale-up team at Relay Graduate School of Education, an entrepreneurial new college preparing teachers and instructional leaders to work in public schools across the United States. He was also a management consultant and public-school teacher.

Dr. LaRosa holds a doctor of education leadership (EdLD) degree from Harvard University, a master of business administration (MBA) degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a bachelor of engineering degree from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art.

Dr. LaRosa lives in the Greater Boston area with his wife Donna and enjoys athletics, hiking with their rescue dog, and traveling.
