Meagan Sutton

Director, Learning & Development Houston Methodist

Meagan Sutton currently serves as the Director of Leadership and Learning at Houston Methodist in Houston, Texas. Houston Methodist comprises a leading academic medical center located within the Texas Medical Center and seven additional hospitals and a growing number of outpatient physician clinics serving the Greater Houston area. In her role, Dr. Sutton leads the Houston Methodist Academy of Leadership and Learning and the team of instructional designers and facilitators charged with design, creation, and execution of leadership and competency development programs to support the system’s 28,000 employees. She also leads the systemwide career development program and the organizational development consulting teams.

Meagan has over 20 years in organizational development and learning roles with 14 years of experience in large academic healthcare systems. Her experience includes leadership development, selection, organizational assessment and design, instructional design and facilitation, performance management, competency models, coaching, succession planning, employee engagement, change management, and career development programs.

Meagan has a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Abilene Christian University and a Master’s degree and Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Houston. She also holds a SHRM Senior Certified Professional in Human Resources certification.
