Lena Hunsinger, MSDS is the Senior Director of Population Health Analytics and Plan Sponsor Consulting for Aetna One Advocate, where she leads population health strategy, analytic consulting, case studies, and customer performance measurement in support of growth, retention, and value demonstration across key market segments. She plays a critical role within Aetna's Sales Enablement and Clinical Business Consulting organization, partnering closely with sales, account, and clinical teams to advance Aetna's Advocate model.​

With over 30 years of experience in healthcare analytics, underwriting, and plan sponsor consulting, Lena brings deep expertise in total cost of care containment, population health management, health equity solutions, and the evaluation of care management interventions. Her work focuses on identifying actionable insights and quantifying program impact to support employer decision‑making across Commercial National Accounts, Enterprise Accounts, and Public & Labor segments.​

Previously, Lena led teams of analytic consultants responsible for medical cost trend analysis and population health opportunity identification for national employer and health system clients. Her teams delivered comprehensive health plan performance reviews, opportunity analyses, and consultative recommendations designed to improve outcomes and optimize spend.​

Lena is a trusted thought leader and communicator, having served for more than a decade as a keynote speaker at Aetna's Healthcare Business Customer Forum. She has also been instrumental in advancing Aetna's Population Health Equity analytics capabilities and Centers of Excellence, expanding both internal thought leadership and external case study development.​

Lena collaborates closely with our sales and account teams to foster customer growth, specifically concentrating on population health and cost containment strategies across various market segments. Her leadership in the Population Health Equity Solutions – Centers of Excellence team has already been instrumental in supporting thought leadership and expanding our case studies and health equity analytic capabilities.​

Lena holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from La Salle University and a Master of Science in Data Science from Eastern University, where she graduated with a 3.9 GPA.​
